Salam friends I am back again and I have an interesting thing for you!
Among the Black Friday deals, I was looking for something that would really add value to my goals more than pursuing how much is this and how much is that. And it happened that I came across a deal that offer half price off on an online-material course entitled (How to get Published) for Micheal Hyatt the author of Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World which is a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestseller. My goal is to be a writer and so I need such material to extend my knowledge, so I bought it and followed this guy on his website, and I tell you what; he has ALOT of knowledge to offer!.
Here is his website http://michaelhyatt.com/
Long story short, the website hosted a complementary (How to Get Published) teleseminar where Micheal Hyatt shares important tips on publication and share important information as well. So I summarized some of the questions and answers he provided and left the rest of the session for you if you are interested in the whole teleseminar record.
Why would someone write a book?
1- Because everyone is an expert in their field without even realizing it!. And thus you can take your skills and knowledge for granted! Moreover, people are willing to pay to hear what you say!
2- You want to gain authority! In most cases, people spend a long time in an important position or perusing a graduate degree, without under estimation for the latter, but they have very little to offer in comparison with the authority you gain by getting your name on a book! It’s a golden rule!
3- Publishing a book differentiates you from other competitors, now you might have many competitors in your field, so if you want the heavy side of the scale in your side, you need to publish a book!
4- Very important thing is that a book is a golden marketing tool because it provides an introduction for another products that you might want to offer in the future!.
5- A book can be a foundation for a new business, for example my book (Platform) worked as a business foundation where it moved to an audio book, video series, conference and we are working on an exclusive membership site with a premium Word Press theme with a lot of stuff related to the same book!.
What is the number one obstacle that stands between a person and lunching a successful publishing career?
It’s the story you are telling yourself!! This story goes like a dialog in your mind, and it could be in such form; Oh gosh I really dont have anything to say!, or I cant handle such a big project or even I cant handle the rejection that publishing a book might entail!
